Deha Metal Cutting and Slitting Processes
At Deha Metal, the billets produced in the steel mill and delivered to the rolling mill are first taken to the furnace for annealing. The rolling annealing furnace is a walking floor furnace with atmosphere and temperature control. The billets annealed in the furnace are passed through the first scale cleaning unit before rolling. The oxide layer, called scale, formed on the surface during annealing is removed.
The billets cleaned from scale are transferred to the block rolling mill. The block rolling mill system consists of a pair of rollers that can operate in two directions. The rolling axis is fixed. The rolling foot automatically shifts to the appropriate calibre for each pass thanks to the settings registered in the system.
The billets completed in the block mill are transferred to the continuous rolling mill. A new intermediate continuous mill group is formed in front of the last continuous mill group. Secondary scale cleaning is performed at three different points along the continuous rolling mill groups. Thus, the secondary oxides formed during rolling are cleaned and the product surface quality is increased. Product quality is at high levels with Deha Metal.
Deha Metal Special Size Production
Deha metal satisfies customers with its special size production service. The product preparation stage in Deha metal is as follows. Each bar produced is checked by the instantaneous size measuring device with laser system at the end of the continuous rolling mill. Measurements are monitored instantaneously and retrospectively from the system. The bars produced in the rolling mill come to the cooling grid. With the material stacking feature in the cooling grid, the covers at the entrance of the grid are used for controlled cooling of the bars. With controlled cooling, a more homogenous hardness is obtained in the bars. After grilling, the bars are cut to the customer’s desired lengths with a stone saw or cold shears. They are packed for further processing.
After the round bars cool down, they are sandblasted and straightened. After these processes, the product is sent to test units to undergo non-destructive testing. One hundred per cent surface defect and internal defect control is carried out in test units. After the bars are visually checked, they are packaged and made ready for shipment. Besides all these, our services are not limited to these.
